The summer of 2019 was in so many ways exactly what I wanted and expected it to be and in others, the complete opposite. At the end of each season I like to look back and draw lines – I make a scrapbook, talk to a friend, or sometimes write.
I always enjoy looking over summer memories as they often happen to be some of my favorites – traveling around the world, trying to discover every corner of the place I’m visiting, laughing in the quiet, late evenings as we watch the sun set, catching up with my best friends, or brunching with my family as we tell old stories… even running around the city, desperately trying to find a free spot to sit at a cafe during rush hour, with piles of books, barely able to hold them together anymore. Summer memories often turn out rose colored in my memory, no matter how sad or tired I must have felt in the moment, I find a way to look back and see the some irony in it, or remember some small detail that didn’t concern me at the time but seems so important now, that the careless warm days are gone.
Until next time…
