Favourite Blair Waldorf Fashion Moments

Favourite Blair Waldorf Fashion Moments

As one of the first characters that I like look for when in need of inspiration, of course I had to include queen B in my favourite fashion moments series.

The Dita Lace Dress by Marc by Marc Jacobs from 1 x 09

B’s famous Thanksgiving Dress, that the internet seems to be raving about even 13 years after first seeing it on the runway. And to be honest, they have all the reason to, as this is the type of dress that never really goes out of style. *on that note,  fell into the rabbit hole of Depop while looking for it recently and decided I’m just going to have to add it to my never-ending list of dresses I want to remake as it’s nearly impossible to find it anywhere.

The Patterned Dress by Moschino from 4 x 01

This dress. This episode. Do I really need to say more?

This Moschino dress from their 2010 Spring Ready-to-Wear collection is one of the first pieces that comes to mind whenever I think of summer strolls.

Anyone else or is it just me?

The Blue Backless Dress by Elenor Waldorf from 1 x 04

The one and only blue backless dress from the begging of the show, that made us all fall in love with the fashion element of it (…just in case we weren’t already).

The Ellie Saab Couture Wedding Dress from 6 x 10

Personally, I wasn’t a fan of Blair’s first wedding dress. While it was beautiful, it didn’t feel that it reflected her character’s style enough. This one, however, is the perfect pick for her incredibly-rushed-but-still-beautiful wedding.

The Purple Floral High Neck Dress from 4 x 03

In my opinion season four is the best out of the whole series, both regarding the storyline and the fashion. We see B mature in her style, while still keeping that classic Blair Waldorf touch. I also love the floral and abstract patterns she wears throughout the season, as you can definitely see by the outfits I’m sharing.

The Purple Patterned Dress from 5 x 04

As I just said, I love the patterned dresses. And purple on brunettes is also one of my favourite combinations, so there wasn’t any way  this vintage inspired dress would be missing from my list.

The Ruffled Purple Camisole and Patterned Skirt from 3 x 03

I didn’t include many casual looks (nor did Blair’s style include many in general), but I think this one falls on a more simple theme compared to the dress that follows. I wanted to include something that we could all get inspiration from for an every day look, you can never go wrong with a cute cami and a skirt or jeans 🙂

The Pink Gown by Oscar De La Renta from 5 x 19

As cute as this dress is, I have to admit the main reason that made me add it to the list was that it reminds me of the scene when B wore it, which I found really motivational in a way.

The White Cape and Skirt from 2 x 04

Needles to say, this is a pretty extravagant outfit for school (there was also a jeweled headband, but I had to choose a photo that showed the full outfit and sadly you can’t see the headpiece from this angle), however isn’t that what Blair’s style is all about?

Also, I would totally wear this to school, if we didn’t have uniforms.

The Black and White Coat from 2 x 16

I remember first seeing Spencer wear this exact same coat in Pretty Little Liars a few years ago and instantly recognized it when I later saw it on Gossip Girl. This is one of the pieces that falls in the category of classic, simple pieces that would work with almost anything.

The Striped Blazer and Read Bow Headband from 1 x 07

Classic Blair Waldorf school look, simple blazer and an over the top headband.

The Black Dress by Alexis Mabille Couture from 4 x 21

The details of this dress speak for itself, but besides that, this is another one of the pieces that reminds me of the scenes it was worn, one of my favourites being Blair and Chuck crashing that random bar mitzvah, I think it was such a fun scene to film.

The Navy Patterned Dress by Marc Jacobs from 6 x 02

Another Marc Jacobs dress. This one perfectly shows Blair’s style as she matures, while still keeping the key elements that define it.

I love seeing the way costume designers sometimes use the same brands on certain characters, as it really helps them define their wardrobe.

The Sparkly Collared Dress and Black Beret from 2 x 14

I love the way this outfit gives her a certain level of authority, while still keeping the romantic element of her style, by adding the beret.

The Red Ruffled Dress from 3 x 02

If I’m not mistaken, this was Blair’s dress on her first day at NYU, and again, I think it’s one of those outfits that gives her a level of maturity, while still keeping her classic headbands, or the ruffles on the dress, as a romantic element, specific to her wardrobe.

What other outfits of Blair’s would you have included and what other characters would you like to see next? Let me know in the comments or on Instagram.

PS: Serena’s post is coming soon

Until next time…
