One of the many things I loved about the show was that the characters on Suits always had a good sense of fashion, one of the best examples is Sarah Rafferty’s character, Donna, who’s wardrobe was always on point.
The ‘ Floral Strapless Dress ‘ by Monique Luhilier from 9 x 10
One of the things I love about Monique’s designs is the way she makes simple dresses stand out. This is an example from the Spring 2019 Collection that looks like it was made to perfectly fit with the setting and scene, as well as complement Sarah’s hair colour and skintone. It’s natural, with clean lines, in one colour except for the embossed flowers, yet still manages to turn heads.
The ‘ Lace Panelled Dress ‘ by Valentino from 7 x 02
The Valentino designs Jolie Andreatta styled for the show are some of the most beautiful office looks I’ve ever seen and undoubtedly my favourites.
I love the lace combination with the mute colours which make a beautiful and powerful dress, that could be an illusion at how Donna always worked from the shadows, since this photo is from her first day after the promotion.
The ‘ Bow Detail Dress ‘ by Valentino from 6 x 13
In my opinion, some of the most beautiful colours for redheads to wear are green, burgundy and blue, so, naturally, this dress caught my attention. It was only after that I saw the gorgeous bow detail on the right shoulder, which takes this Valentino dress from to a whole new level and makes the character perfectly stand out at the office.
The Black High Neck top from 9 x 07
As much as I love Donna’s office looks, I’m very happy to see a few casual outfits every once in a while. They inspire my own wardrobe sometimes as they’re so comfortable yet stylish. In my opinion, high neck tops have to be some of the best pieces to wear for a night in, as they give any outfit that extra bit of ‘glam’ without having to be too much trouble.
The ‘ Mirror Dress ‘ by Dion Lee from 9 x 02
White dresses are always a right choice, but little details like the cuts on this one make a dress special.
The ‘ Bow Front Cutout Dress ‘ by Burberry from 5 x 01
I’m still somewhat sad this Burberry design never had its moment in the show, Donna only appeared wearing it for a few seconds in a dream scene at the beginning of 5×01.
The ‘ Wool – Blend Sweater ‘ by Oscar De La Renta from 9 x 08
Again, big fan of Donna’s casual looks because of their simple details that completely change them from boring to cute & comfortable.
PS: I found a really comfy dupe for this sweater at H&M a few weeks ago for a fraction of the price 🙂
The ‘ Green Lace trench Coat ‘ by Burberry from 3 x 03
I absolutely love this shade of green with lace which, again, is something a bit out of the ordinary, but still wearable. The colour looks gorgeous on Sarah and makes her stand out as a bold figure in the dark evening.
The ‘ Atria Wool Dress ‘ by Roland Mouret from 4 x 05
As I’ve said before, burgundy is one of my favourite colour combinations on redheads and this Roland Mouret dress, in its simplicity, does its job of making her stand out from the mute colours of the file room background and bringing more attention to the character.
The ‘ Embellished Detail Dress’ by Prada from 9 x 07
I personally love it when brands add little changes to what would have been a pretty simple black dress. So is the case here, the embellished details were on the other side of the dress and I sadly couldn’t get a picture, but it’s worth searching it up. The high neck detail is also one of my favourites, as I mentioned before.
I’m curious to know your favourite outfits worn by Donna or other characters of the show, as well as what character/show I should do next, you can let me know in the comments or on Instagram.
Until next time…
