A few days ago I got the notification, Megan Hess was coming to Dubai to launch her new book ” Iconic: The Masters of Italian Fashion” and was also going to have a book signing at the beautiful Fairmont the Palm.
Flash-forward a few days later, at the location almost an hour before the event and with a handbag full of books.
When my turn came, she greeted me with a warm smile. We talked while she was signing the mountain of books I brought with me, she encouraged me and gave me recommendations for my dream of working in fashion.
In the moment, I also realized I wanted to ask her something for my blog, I didn’t have anything prepared, but I was curious about her favorite art mediums and what else she works with, to which she said that she does all of her illustrations in ink and then color them digitally, I also remembered to also ask her about the pen she uses most, which is a custom Montblanc ink pen.
In the end, we took a few photos and Polaroids (I also gave her one of the instant photos). And afterwards met the lovely ladies behind the planning of the event, who were also so nice and positive
This was one of the most inspirational moments in my life, having someone who had such a big impact on my life and work encourage me in what I do and with this article I want to announce I”ll also start posting more of my art on social media (if you’ve noticed, I took a break from that a few months ago).
I want to thank Megan for doing this book tour, coming to visit Dubai and inspiring me to work on my dreams.
