Autumnal Things

Autumnal Things

The cold season is finally here and I thought it would be fitting to make a new bucket list, as well as talk about autumn decor, entertainment, fashion and food.

“autumn leaves falling down like pieces into place…”

I don’t know what else I have to say, it’s not autumn if you don’t curl up in a blanket with a cup of coffee or tea and listen to the full Red album by Taylor Swift.

After that, I also have a few other seasonal favorites, some of them are:

Sweater Weather – The Neighborhood

Creep – Radiohead

Inside Day – Keegan Allen

Can’t Stop Loving You – Phil Collins

Cornelia Street – Taylor Swift

Chasing Pavements – Adele

You’ve Got The Love – Florence + The Machine

Chameleon – Lara Fabian

Babe – Sugarland ft. Taylor Swift

Someone Like You – Adele

Somebody That I Used To Know – Gotye ft. Kimbra

I also made a Spotify playlist that includes these songs and a few more, you can listen to it here.

some pumpkins here, a few copper leaves there

Decor… it just brings everything together and makes the season come to life in that cute little corner of the room.

I think scented candles instantly set the mood for any season, the ones I’m currently using are ‘Paris Cafe’ (White Barn), which I just got and am in love with – smells like coffee on a rainy day, and ‘Caramel Swirl’ (Bath & Body Works), which I got it around this time last year  – smells exactly like freshly baked cinnamon rolls and melted caramel. I also love home made scented candles, which are definitely worth a try for everyone, as you can make the perfect unique candle for yourself, or as a gift.

Another one of the small and easy things I like doing this time of the year to change the appearance of my room a bit is just hang pressed leaves around the room, or leave chestnuts on my bookshelf or bedside table, they add a natural feel to the room.

sweater weather

Cream, coffee and pumpkin colored sweaters are back! I’m so excited to start wearing some of my favorite pieces for the cold season, all of the boots, the coats, every single sweater I own, and a dress every now and then because no matter how cold, I won’t give up on them.

time to get spooky

There’s still a bit left until Halloween, but it’s never too early for some fall themed movies & shows, some of the ones I’m planning on watching this October are:

Pumpkin Spice Latte (my absolute favorite)

Cinnamon Rolls

Caramel Apples

Pumpkin Pie

S’mores

Cinnamon Tea Latte

Pancakes covered in Maple Syrup

Apple Pie

Pumpkin Bread

There’s nothing quite like freshly baked goods on a rainy evening so I encourage you to try making these at home (I’ll try my best to share some recipes here and on my Instagram stories), but you can also buy already made treats if you don’t feel like turning on the oven and making a mess of your kitchen.
