15 before 15

15 before 15

Every once in a while there’s that family reunion when everyone starts rambling about how much you’ve grown over the past year and how time flies by, while you roll your eyes and try change the conversation. But time really flies by, doesn’t it? Seems like I was celebrating my 14th birthday just yesterday. However, another year has passed, a lot of things have changed and as of today, I’m 15!

I wanted to find a cute way to celebrate this milestone and came up with a “15 before 15” bucket list. I always see a lot of these types of bucket lists and they seemed very fun, so I decided to make my own, Enjoy!

Volunteer

There’s so many causes that need your help and it doesn’t cost you anything to offer a hand to those less fortunate or to pick up trash and contribute to saving the planet.

Travel to another country/continent

Or… move to another continent! ? Ok, well, let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

It’s hardly a secret that I love traveling and that, in my opinion it’s always worth the planning, effort and money. But the best part is- it doesn’t always have to be expensive and it’s something you’ll remember and talk about for the rest of your life.

Dramatically cut or dye your hair

Back in the summer of 2017 I bleached and dyed the tips of my hair turquoise.

I also have a more recent experience, just last month I tried temporarily dying it pink, without bleaching it. It’s a bit dull, but I really enjoy the subtle change in color.

I find experimenting with my hair color so fun and definitely worth trying, even if only for a few days, there’s a lot of temporary hair colors that wash away immediately after they get in contact with water. Or you can be more bold and cut it!  I’m happy with the length of my hair at the moment (the longer, the better), but I did cut bangs in September 2018, which I find dramatic enough for a haircut 🙂 .

Send a letter

These days you don’t really see people sending letters anymore, many people in my generation have probably never send one, even emails are outdated, we have texts and DMs, so why bother to write, stamp and send an actual paper letter when the person you’re trying to reach is a click away? Call me old fashioned, but I think there’s nothing like writing and mailing a letter. Sure, it may take a while, but I think it’s much more impressive and appreciated by the receiver.

Start a blog

There’s not much to say, you’re currently reading mine, aren’t you?

I started this blog about 4 years ago, (with a lot of reorganizations and pauses in between) and I can’t say that managing it is the easiest thing ever, I only recently started a new schedule that took me a while to organize, but the result is worth it. I find it very creative, coming up with new ideas for articles and photos every week, then shooting them, which is always a lot of fun, and writing the articles, then getting your feedback. It’s an amazing experience and even if it takes you a while to get used to organizing everything, I can guarantee you’ll be happy you started one.

Watch the sunrise

On the beach, with the music of the waves hitting the land and the big fire ball rising from the sea…

Too much? Watching the sun rise from your bedroom window and then going back to sleep is fine too, or from your car window, on your way to school or work. Well, to be honest, you probably won’t get the same effect, but even so, it’s worth waking up to see the sun paint the sky and giving the start to a new, beautiful day.

Binge watch a tv series

I may have I lost count!

Every once in a while it’s nice to just live the life of a tv character for a few hours, isn’t it?

Learn at least one foreign language

If you remember my Instagram feed from last year, I had French words as dividers, which I made in the hope that whoever follows me can learn a new word every other day, while I was perfecting my French. I’m still far from being fluent, but I can understand and translate most things, even though it sometimes takes me a while, a nice exercise I started doing is translating poetry whenever I find some free time. I’m sure you already know that learning a new language can be very helpful and also so entertaining. Whenever I want to learn new vocabulary I try to read books or watch movies & shows in the language that I want to learn, I found out that it helps me a lot!

Complete a 1000 piece puzzle

I’ve had this goal when I was little and accomplished it a while ago but still wanted to include it here. I think puzzles are so entertaining, especially when you just want to disconnect from everything and enjoy the moment. Just recently I found and started assembling a new puzzle, with a cup of hot tea and some of my favorite tunes in the background.

Do a 30 day photo challenge

This one is definitely one of my favorites, it doesn’t take a lot of effort and most challenges give you so much freedom, so you can add your element to it.

Find a new hobby

Back in September I got myself a guitar, as I always wanted to learn how to play an instrument and the guitar has been one of my favorites for a long time. I’m still learning some of the basics it’s definitely far from perfect, but I love discovering and trying out new hobbies.

Go to a music festival

The first time I ever went to a festival was back in 2017 and it was one of my favorite experiences ever.

I definitely recommend trying it out, even if it isn’t something you’d normally do. The vibe is completely different and you can’t compare it to any concerts, people of all kinds, there for different types of music, the food! There’s nothing compared to having donuts at 3 am on the grass after jumping and shouting the lyrics to your favorite artists’ songs for hours.

Learn how to cook a new dish

My mom has always loved cooking and while I’m not as passionate about it as she is, I can say I do enjoy it a lot and try to learn something new whenever I have time.

Establish a sleep schedule

Anyone else guilty of never getting enough time to sleep?

I’ve started doing this since I found out Apple introduced their “bedtime” feature into the software and it’s probably one of the long term best choices I made. Sure, I change my sleep schedule pretty regularly, whenever I travel or when I have a break from school, but having a properly organized schedule always ensures that I get enough hours of sleep.

Dance in the rain

I always loved rain on some level, but only started truly appreciating it after I moved to the hot climate. That’s when I realized the true beauty of rain is the way it revives the plants and animals in a matter of minutes. Us, well… we tend to get angry or tired when we see it starts raining, and that doesn’t have to be something bad. I must admit, there’s nothing like an afternoon nap with the sound of raindrops hitting the ground, but rain can also bring us happiness and energy, if you decide to look at it differently. Remember when you were little and used to jump into every puddle you found on the street and run into the rain? Go out and dance in the rain, pretend you don’t see the way people stare at you and just have fun!

I hope you like these and try them, if you do, you can tag me on Instagram.

Until next time…

?kisses,
